Looking from bottom left to upper right, you can see how the size of the meander pattern changes from a basic, large meander to very dense stippling.

The larger meander patterns are often done as an all-over effect that doesn't detract from the quilt itself. The much more dense stippling technique is used to highlight specific elements of a quilt.
